OUR STORY

The name ‘Anandi’ means joy, happiness. It is also key to our philosophy of teaching. We at Anandi have been training students in Carnatic (South Indian classical) music for more than a decade now. The centre, situated in Indiranagar, Bangalore, currently has about 100 students and counts about 30 alumni.

We are happy to have nurtured many budding musicians who have received accolades in the field and to have inculcated classical music as a serious and enjoyable hobby in youngsters. We take pride in having a diverse student community consisting of children of different age groups and adults too. This has also given us an opportunity to put in place different approaches and methodologies.

We registered formally with the government of Karnataka in 2011. We actively encourage and guide students who wish to appear for the certificate music exams conducted annually by the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB). Apart from this, individual students who wish to appear in various competitions are given separate guidance. Anandi’s students have shone on various platforms – as rank holders in the junior and senior exams, as top prize winners in reputed sabhas like ‘Gayana Samaj’ (Bangalore), ‘Rasika Ranjani Sabha’ (Trichy) and as selected artistes at ‘Indian Raga’, to name a few.
